Born and raised in Los Angeles, Ann is a Cuban-American filmmaker.
Majoring in Art History and Studio Art, Ann spent her college years developing her visual sensibilities at institutions like Museum as Retail Space and the Getty Museum. Upon graduation, Ann began her television career at PBS SoCal (née KCET). Through her work at PBS, she received two LA Emmy nominations for “Who Killed Josiah?” and “City Rising: Youth Democracy”. Ann has gone on to produce television for TLC, History Channel, Meta and Discovery.
In 2021, she expanded into narrative with her first short film, “Arroró”, which earned her a fellowship with Hola Mexico Film Festival’s Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today program. Since then, Ann has directed her second short, “Omw home” and was accepted into the Alliance of Women Director’s inaugural Mentor Latina Directors cohort. In 2025, Ann was selected for the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s Series Scriptwriter intensive.
Through her writing, directing and producing, Ann is interested in utilizing genre to reexamine the past.
